Compagnia d’Arte Drummatica si muove nella dimensione della musica incidentale, una musica che nasce e vive in relazione ad altro. Questo interesse ha portato il gruppo a relazionarsi ad altre forme d’arte realizzando collaborazioni con gruppi di danza, artisti figurativi, scrittori, e operando in ambiti come il cinema di animazione e il teatro. L’organico vede insieme musicisti provenienti da esperienze diverse, e combina l’uso delle percussioni con altri strumenti tradizionali e vari strumenti inventati. Le peculiarità del lavoro svolto vanno dalla riscoperta di una musicalità primitiva alla ricerca di effetti e sonorità particolari ottenute dall’uso non sempre ortodosso degli strumenti, il tutto con un orecchio sempre teso verso tradizioni musicali “altre”‚ ed una tecnica compositiva che lascia largo spazio all’improvvisazione.

Compagnia d’Arte Drummatica acts in the experimental music scene. The project, to explore the world of percussion, was enriched as a result of the collaboration of other musicians who enriched the ensemble with new timbres and led Compagnia in the dimension of “incidental music” – a music that was born to relate to the other arts. The interest in this field has led the group to relate to other forms of art by making collaborations with dance groups, visual artists, writers, and by working in areas such as cinema and theatre. The staff is composed by musicians from different backgrounds, and combines the use of traditional instruments with several invented instruments. Their work ranges from the discovery of a primitive musicality to the research of peculiar sounds and effects obtained through an unconventional use of the instruments, a particular attention to “other” musical traditions and a composition which makes frequent use of improvisation.
