In una valle, un cane vive felicemente con il suo padrone, un pastore insolito. Questo pastore non solo taglia la lana delle sue pecore, ne crea nuvole, per fare la pioggia, preservando così il ciclo della vita. Ma se il pastore non fosse eterno, cosa sarebbe successo alla valle? Il giovane cane dovrebbe essere creativo e persistente per evitare il peggio. Il film è realizzato dagli studenti della scuola francese MoPA.

In a valley, a dog lives happily with his master, an uncommon shepherd. This shepherd doesn’t only shear his sheep’s wool, he creates clouds out of it, to make rain, thus preserving the cycle of life. But if the shepherd wasn’t everlasting, what would happen to the valley ? The young dog would have to be creative and persistent to avoid the worst.
The film is made by the students from the french school MoPA.

In una foresta di Ki-Ki-Doi, in fuga da uno spietato cacciatore, si nasconde una strana creatura. Poiché Rosie non riesce a difenderla, l’intervento del Principe Ki-Ki-Doi si impone. Grega Mastnak, nato nel 1969 a Lubiana, in Slovenia, ha studiato cinema d’animazione alla FAMU di Praga. È autore della serie animata Bizgeci; Rubrica e serie animate di Lubiana Prince Ki-Ki-Do.

In a Ki-Ki-Doi forest, on the run from a ruthless hunter, a strange creature is hiding – terrified. Because Rosie’s pig fails to defend Noah from the Hunter, Prince Ki-Ki-Doi’s intervention is imperative. Grega Mastnak, born 1969 Ljubljana, Slovenia, studied animated film at FAMU, Prague. He is the author of animated seria Bizgeci; Ljubljana’s Phonebook and animated seria Prince Ki-Ki-Do.

La persona e il progetto si confondono in questa breve celebrazione sperimentale. Sentirsi frenetici, frustrati, estatici, distratti, fa tutto parte dell’inizio. William Crook, nato nel 1985 nel Regno Unito, è un animatore indipendente, risiede a Zurigo, dove divide il suo tempo tra famiglia, progetti personali, commissioni e insegnamento all’Università delle Arti di Zurigo.

The person and the project get mixed up in this short experimental celebration. Feeling frenetic, frustrated, ecstatic, distracted, it’s all part of getting started. William Crook, born 1985 in the UK, is an independent animator, he is currently based in Zürich, where he divides his time between family, personal projects, commissions, and teaching at the Zürich University of the Arts.

Nel profondo di una foresta, un raduno di animali selvatici inizia un’opera notturna, diretta da uno scoiattolo. Attratto da animali e immagini fotorealistiche, questo collettivo di registi francesi ha attirato l’attenzione del mondo dell’animazione nel 2016 con il cortometraggio “Garden Party” che, tra gli altri riconoscimenti, che è è stato tra le nomination agli Oscar 2018 per i cortometraggi.

Deep into a forest, a gathering of wild animals start a nocturnal opera, conducted by a squirrel. Very attracted by animals and photoreal images, this collective of French directors caught the attention of the animation world in 2016 with their short film “Garden Party”, which was nominated at the VES Awards in Los Angeles and went on to win the Grand jury price at Nashville film Festival among other accolades, which culminated in being nominated for Best Animated Short Film at the 2018 Oscars.

Koyaa vuole dipingere, ma il suo foglio di carta inizia improvvisamente a piegarsi in un aeroplano di carta, decollando con un ronzio. Koyaa lo insegue mentre continua a trasformarsi in varie forme, essendo super sfuggente! Kolja Saksida ha conseguito il Master in Studi cinematografici presso l’ECAL di Losanna. Lavora nel campo del cinema come regista, produttore e insegnante. Kolja è professore assistente presso la School of Arts (UNG) e direttore della società di produzione ZVVIKS.

Koyaa wants to paint, but his sheet of paper suddenly starts folding into a paper airplane, taking off with a buzz. Koyaa chases after it as it keeps transforming into various shapes, being super elusive! Kolja Saksida received his Master’s degree in Film Studies from the ECAL University, Lausanne. He works in the field of filmmaking as a director, producer and teacher. Kolja is an assistant professor at the School of Arts (UNG), and the director of the pro-duction company ZVVIKS.

Il film è la storia di una giovane balena che fatica a trovare la sua voce. Dopo essersi allontanata troppo dalla sua famiglia seguendo un naufragio, scopre il suo unico sopravvissuto, un uccello canoro in gabbia. Carol è co-fondatrice dello studio irlandese di stopmotion Paper Panther. Il suo cortometraggio d’esordio The Bird & the Whale ha vinto oltre venti premi fino ad oggi e ha partecipato a numerosi festival cinematografici di prestigio in tutto il mondo.

The Bird and the Whale is a story of a young whale struggling to find his voice. After straying too far from his family to explore a shipwreck, he discovers its sole survivor, a caged songbird. Together they struggle to survive lost at sea. Carol is a co-founder of Irish stopmotion studio Paper Panther.

Once upon a time there was a crocodile who didn’t like to hunt. Marc Riba and Anna Solanas have been working in the world of puppet animation for 18 years. They have made several short films which have been selected in more than 1000 festivals around the world.

Gli animali selvatici competono in eventi sportivi. Una nuova serie animata che mette in mostra situazioni comiche o poetiche, ma sempre insolite. Nicolas Deveaux è autore e regista. Dopo i suoi cortometraggi “7tonnes3” e “5mètres80” (vincitore del premio Best in Show al Siggraph Asia 2012), la sua nuova creazione “1 mètre / heure” presenta una compagnia di lumache che esegue una coreografia scivolosa sull’ala di un aeroplano.

Sweetie Pie is the first dog ever competing for Olympic gold in ski jumping. Can he withstand the pressure? Claudia RÖthlin & Yves Gutjar since 2009/10 works as independent directors and animators for commissioned and independent productions. 2014 the two founded the stop motion studio Tiny Giant Animation.

Il Professor Balthazar è un personaggio che appare per la prima volta nel film di animazione “L’Inventore” del 1967, creato dal grande animatore croato, candidato all’Oscar e al British Academy Award e vincitore di numerosi premi in numerosi festival, Zlatko Grgić.
Dopo il grande successo di pubblico avuto col primo film, fu prodotta una serie di 59 episodi che avevano il Professor Balthazar come protagonista.
La serie animata venne realizzata in un laboratorio della leggendaria “Scuola di Zagabria”.

Professor Balthazar as a character first appeared in the animated film
“The Inventor” in 1967, made by an important Croatian animator, a candidate for the Oscar and British academy award and a winner of numerous awards in many animation festivals, Zlatko Grgić.
After the exceptional success the first film had with the audience, a series of 59 films with Professor Balthazar as a main character were produced.

Selezione dei film realizzati durante i laboratori con le scuole
Quest‘anno si sono tenuti diversi laboratori nelle scuole sia primarie che secondarie con tematiche spesso legate sia al cinquecentenario leonardesco che all‘anniversario dell‘allunaggio. La tecnica usata è quella del cut-out in stop motion. Questi laboratori sono stati seguiti dal team VivacomixLab.

This year we have held several workshops in both primary and secondary schools with themes often linked to both the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci and the 50th anniversary of the Moon landing.Whit the use of stopmotion cut-out technique. These workshops were followed by the VivacomixLab team.
