L’idea del film è combinare tra loro cinema di intrattenimento e film d’avanguardia. Grazie all’editing effettuato per singolo fotogramma, con particolare attenzione all’aspetto sonoro, il film da iperrealista diviene fantastico e surreale. Thomas Renoldner (1960) è un artista multiforme che si è occupato di disegno, pittura, musica, installazioni e performance.

The basic idea of DONT KNOW WHAT is to combine entertainment cinema and avant-garde film / video art. With the method of single frame editing, which in the first step focused on the sound, the hyperrealistic film transforms into fantastic, surreal, structural and even abstract film. Dai ricordi affettivi e visivi della mia infanzia, questo film vuole essere un omaggio a mio zio Tomás, un uomo umile e un po’ eccentrico che ha avuto una vita semplice e anonima. Volevo mostrare che non è necessario essere eccezionali per diventare importanti per qualcuno.
Regina Pessoa (Coimbra, Portogallo, 1969) si laurea in Pittura presso la Facoltà di Belle Arti di Porto, nel 1998.

From the emotional and visual memories of my childhood, this film wants to be a tribute to my uncle Tomás, a humble and somewhat eccentric man who had a simple and anonymous life. I wanted to show that it is not necessary to be exceptional to become important to someone. Regina Pessoa (Coimbra, Portugal, 1969) graduated in Painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of Porto, in 1998.

Alba ricorda di essersi innamorata di Pierino, amico di suo fratello, nell’Italia dei primi anni Cinquanta. Nel 2005 Maria Steinmetz ha iniziato i suoi studi presso l’Università di cinema e televisione HFF “Konrad Wolf” di Potsdam-Babelsberg. Nel 2014 ha ottenuto il Master in animazione alla l’HFF “Konrad Wolf”. Dal 2015 lavora come animatrice indipendente e conduce seminari di animazione per bambini e adulti.

Alba remembers how she felt in Love with Pierino, friend of her brother, in the early fifties in Italy. In 2005 Maria Steinmetz started her study at the University of Film and Television HFF “Konrad Wolf” in Potsdam-Babelsberg. In 2014 she became master scholar at HFF “Konrad Wolf“. Since 2015 she is working as freelance animator and leading animation workshops for children and adults .

Il film racconta le tribolazioni amorose di un giovane poeta che nel finale risolve in modo molto liberatorio!
Vincenzo Gioanola è nato a Casale Monferrato, in Italia, il 10 aprile 1955. Ha realizzato il suo primo film d’animazione “Boogie” nel 1981. Da allora ha insegnato animazione a bambini, studenti e insegnanti in scuole pubbliche e private, ha lavorato come illustratore, incisore e in la sfera pubblicitaria.

E’ un film non narrativo di 1,30 minuti realizzato in un unico piano sequenza che mette insieme e mescola vari esperimenti e filmati realizzati negli ultimi anni .  il risultato è quello di una follia visiva con un andamento molto bizzarro e vivace dove elementi sessuali e trash si fondono in una perpetua metamorfosi di forme e suoni. Donato Sansone è uno dei più grandi artisti dell’animazione a livello internazionale.

It is a non-narrative film of 1.30 minutes realized in a single sequence plan that brings together and mixes various experiments and films made in recent years. the result is that of a visual madness with a very bizarre and lively trend where sexual and trash elements merge in a perpetual metamorphosis of shapes and sounds. Donato Sansone is one of the greatest international artists of animation.

Nel film Motivi l’arte si trasforma in una documentazione di scene quotidiane, nelle quali risalta il contrasto assurdo tra l’immagine e il messaggio, la forma e la funzione, l’obiettivo e il soggettivo. Un viaggio attraverso la tradizione umanistica della pittura europea, che si scontra con la tragedia dell’emigrazione odierna. Danijel Žeželj nasce a Zagabria nel 1967, autore di graphic novel, pittore e illustratore. I suoi fumetti e le sue illustrazioni sono stati pubblicati da DC Comics, Marvel Comics, Dark Horse, Heavy Metal.

The art themes transform into documentary everyday scenes in an absurdist contrast between the image and the message, the form and the function, the objective and the subjective. Danijel Žeželj born in Zagreb in 1967, a graphic novelist, animator, painter and illustrator.

Due guardie in uniforme rivelano la loro natura di esseri invertebrati mentre alcuni animali si intrattengono  filosofeggiando su importanti questioni esistenziali. Alexander Gratzer è nato nel 1993 a Hallein, in Austria. Dal 2018 studia animazione(Master) presso la Moholy – Nagy Universität Budapest.

While two uniformed guards divulge themselves as spineless beings, animals carry on philosophical dialogues about important existential issues. At the same time the solution to one of the most essential problems is apparent: you just have to wash, peel, cut, and mash it. Born 1993 in Hallein/ Austria, Alexander Gratzer studies Animation in MOME.

Vojtěch Domlátil è un regista indipendente, animatore, illustratore, grafico nello studio di animazione dell’Università della Boemia occidentale, a Pilsen. Nei suoi ultimi film si concentra sugli aspetti poetici dell’animazione in stop motion, oscillando tra animazione, documentario ed esperimento.

Morning. Coffee. Breakfast. Shower. And then? Trip outside? Or trip inside? Breathing meditation in form of linear full animation. I love natural space and movement through the landscape. I work as an assistant in the studio of animation in the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, Czech Republic. I obtained few awards with my animation and illustration works. In my last films I specialise myself to non-narrative possibilities.

In questo cortometraggio, l’animatore israeliano Gil Alkabetz scopre ne L’ultima cena di Leonardo da Vinci, movimenti mai visti prima: sezionando il dipinto in frammenti animati, possiamo osservare i protagonisti discutere, mangiare e ballare. Nato nel 1957 in Israele, Gil Alkabetz ha studiato all’Accademia di arte e design “Bezalel” di Gerusalemme. Lavora da freelance come produttore e pittore di cortometraggi a Sttutgart e Tel Aviv.

In this short film, Israel animator Gil Alkabetz discovers, in The Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci, movements never seen before: by dissecting the painting into animated fragments, we can observe the protagonists discussing, eating and dancing. Born in 1957 in Israel, Gil Alkabetz studied at the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. He works as a freelance producer and painter of short films at Sttutgart and Tel Aviv.
