COMPETITION II

Il cortometraggio racconta la danza della vita e della morte nella lussureggiante selva tropicale, così come viene vissuta giorno dopo giorno, anno dopo anno, dalle creature magiche che abitano il deserto dei nostri sogni. Anu-Laura Tuttelberg si è laureata in animazione all’Estonian Academy of Arts, nel 2013. Ha realizzato scenografie per diverse animazioni in stop motion e tenuto seminari di animazione.

Scenes of the dance of life and death in the lush tropical nature as it is lived day by day, year by year, by the magical creatures that inhabit the wilderness of our dreams. Anu-Laura Tuttelberg graduated MA degree in animation at Estonian Academy of Arts in 2013. She has made set designs for several short stop motion animations and given workshops of stop motion animation.

Una processione di uomini in abiti bianchi accompagna una giovane donna in una strana processione. In questo oscuro paesaggio, un universo biologico perpetuo trasformerà il suo corpo. Giovanna è nata in Italia nel 1982. Ha studiato animazione presso il Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia di Torino. Ha collaborato per diversi film d’animazione internazionali come “Ethel ed Ernest” di Raymond Briggs, “Pinocchio” di Enzo D’Alò e Lorenzo Mattotti, “Psiconautas i bambini dimenticati” di Alberto Vazquez.

A procession of men in white clothing walk a young woman in a strange procession. In this obscure landscape, a perpetual biological universe will transform her body. Giovanna was born in Italy in 1982. She studied animation at the Experimental Centre of Cinematography in Turin, She worked for several international animated films as “Ethel and Ernest” by Raymond Briggs, “Pinocchio” by Enzo D’Alò and Lorenzo Mattotti, “Psiconautas the forgotten children” by Alberto Vazquez.

Una moglie tradita inizia ad investigare sulle amanti di suo marito. Ma la gelosia lascia gradualmente il posto alla curiosità. Nadja Andrasev è una regista ungherese che ha vinto il Joint Third Prize con il suo primo film di diploma al MOME Anim, The Noise of Licking (A nyalintás nesze).

A betrayed wife starts to investigate her husband’s mistresses. Her jealousy is gradually replaced by curiosity. Nadja Andrasev is a Hungarian animation filmmaker. Her graduation film from MOME Anim, The Noise of Licking (A nyalintás nesze), premiered at the Cinéfondation Selection at Cannes, winning the Joint Third Prize.

La giovane donna  protagonista di Imbued Life sente una forte connessione con le forze della natura. Utilizza il suo talento per la tassidermia per “riconsegnare” gli animali al loro habitat. Tuttavia, in ognuno degli animali che tratta, trova una pellicola di negativi e la sua ossessione la spinge a cercare una spiegazione. Ivana Bosnjak (1983) si è laureata prima presso il Dipartimento di Grafica dell’Accademia di Belle Arti di Zagabria.

Imbued Life is a film about a young woman’s connection with the life force of nature. She uses her talent for taxidermy to “restore” the animals to their natural habitat. However, the true search for the answers begins when she starts finding a roll of undeveloped film in each of the animals she treats. Her obsession drives her to seek the explanation of the connection she feels, haunting her dreams, as well as her waking moments. Ivana Bosnjak (1983) graduated from the Graphics Department of the Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb.

L’irriducibile scapolo Einar Jernskjegg vince la lotteria. Kristjan Holm nasce nel 1976 a Tallinn, in Estonia. Si laurea presso l’Accademia estone delle arti, nel 1999, come designer d’interni.

Jonathan, dodici anni, vive con sua sorella, sua madre e alcuni uomini. Hanno tutti la stessa faccia e si nascondono negli armadi, nei cassetti, nel televisore. Osman Cerfon è un regista d’animazione francese, nato nel 1981. Dopo aver studiato grafica alla Beaux-Arts di Epinal, ha completato i suoi studi alla scuola La Poudrière. Questo è il suo primo film prodotto da Miyu Productions, uno studio di animazione con il quale sviluppa in parallelo Voodoo Meo, un originale progetto in serie di 52 episodi.

Jonathan, twelve years old, lives with his sister, his mother and also some men. They all have the same face and nest in closets, drawers, TV set. Osman Cerfon is a French animated film director born in 1981. After studying graphic design and training at the Beaux-Arts in Epinal, Osman Cerfon completed his studies at La Poudrière school. It is his first short film produced by Miyu Productions, an animation studio with which he develops in parallel Voodoo Meow an original series project of 52 episodes.

In partenza per il lavoro dei suoi sogni, un tecnico satellitare tiene a bada la solitudine inviando di continuo sms ai suoi vecchi amici. Dopo aver trascurato i suoi doveri, un satellite lascia la sua orbita, provocando il collasso della rete mondiale. Frederic Siegel è un regista d’animazione svizzero, visual artist e membro del collettivo Team Tumult, di Zurigo.  Benjamin Morard è un regista, animatore e artista di storyboard con base a Zurigo.

Leaving for his dream job, a satellite technician keeps solitude at bay by constantly texting with his old friends. After neglecting his duties, a satellite leaves its orbit which causes the world’s network to collapse. Frederic Siegel is a Swiss animation director, visual artist and member of the Zurich-based collective Team Tumult. Benjamin Morard is a Zurich-based director, animator and storyboard artist. After graduating from the Lucerne School of Art and Design he co-founded the creative collective Team Tumult where he creates commissioned animations and directs short films.

Clémence e i suoi genitori partecipano a un grande picnic in campagna. Arrivata in ritardo, Clémence si unisce agli altri bambini, che stanno già giocando, lontano dagli adulti. Non tutto però va nel migliore dei modi. Lénaïg Le Moigne (1991) durante i suoi studi in arte, si è interessata alle immagini in movimento e così si è iscritta alla School of Entertainment Film Professions (EMCA)questo è il suo primo cortometraggio professionale.

Clémence and her parents participate to a big country picnic. Arriving late Clémence joins the other children who are already playing away from adults but everything does not happen in the good mood expecte. Lénaïg Le Moigne est née le 20 décembre 1991 à Saint-Sébastien sur Loire. Pendant ses études en art, elle s’intéresse de plus en plus à l’image animée, et intègre l’Ecole des Métiers du Cinéma d’Animation (EMCA) et sort diplômée en 2015.
