A Little Too Much
Martina Scarpelli, (Miyu Distribution), France, 2020, 03:45 |
“In an imaginary space a woman let go of herself and overcomes fearing her own greatness. She discovers her body, she embraces her emotions, and learns to own all the parts that make her HER.
I’m sick and tired of faking /Yeah I wish that I could see me through your eyes/You make me sound so amazing/But I don’t feel all of that/Most of the time /All of the weight on my shoulders/I’m hardly a ray of sunshine /And I can’t help but feel/Sometimes /Oh I feel sometimes that /Sometimes I’m a little too much/Couldn’t put out this fire/If I wanted to/Baby I’m a satellite /Out here searching for the truth /But I can’t help but fear sometimes/Oh I fear sometimes that /My heart is on my sleeve /No matter where I go /And give always been taught/ to turn the lights way down low/So I can’t help but feel sometimes/Oh I feel sometimes that/Sometimes I’m a little too much/Be all of you bitch /Don’t dim your light bitch /You gotta use it/Don’t dim your light bitch”. |
Black Snot&Golden Squares
Irina Rubina, (Iraru), Germany, 2020, 01:09 |
The film as described by the author is: “little something for worried souls”. Her serpentine road to film included detours into free art (photography and installation) and Mathematics – both have given her a good inspiration for her work. |

Hierarchy Glitch
Vessela Dantcheva, (Compote Collective), Bulgaria, Austria, 2019, 06:25 |
In a purely abstract way “Hierarchy Glitch” deals with a core idea of the Common Good Economy model. Both visual patterns and the ensemble’s voices are tied up in hierarchical behaviour, which restrains the full potential and mobility of each individual element. Soon the matrix pattern breaks out, connections and directions are lost, resulting in entropic disorder. This is when the single units autonomously connect with the rest, forming organic and balanced constellations. They develop a collective organism, a resilient entity. |

Kula / The Tower
Sunčana Brkulj, (Academy Of Fine Arts, Zagreb Film), Croazia, 2020, 03:58 |
La musica originale è il brano “You’re what I want” del gruppo The Recks.
The rise of a small civilization over the years, this is the metaphor hidden in the film by the young director Sunčana Brkulj who realizes it with a mixed technique, of drawings and 2D animation. The original music is the song “You’re what I want” by The Recks group.
“I saw the walls cave in today and they murdered my reflection/I saw the walls cave in today and they murdered my reflection/You know I never heard you scream oh but I I’ve never seen you smile/I love your eyes like pearls and your lips were made for kissing/I love your golden curls and your skin girl I’ve been missing”. |

Terra Ca Nun Dormi / Land Of The Burning Hearts
Francesco Mescolini, Valentino Presti, Marco Rinicella, (independent), Italy, 2020, 03:29 |
”Terra ca nun dormi” is a journey into Sicily in the 1950s, the “Tempu de lu pisci spata”, the arts and crafts that Vittorio De Seta wanted to preserve and fix on film out of fear that this micro-world would disappear. A man in a hat and red trousers ventures through the busy city, the tinsmith’s hammer marks the rhythm of life while the magma seethes underground as the restless soul of these people. The man then reaches the sea where the fishermen fight and sweat in the middle of the water, to bring home dinner. Will a time come where mankind exist in full harmony with nature, where the rhythms of life will be marked by this harmonious relationship between all living beings? |
